Hot August Night is a five-piece band consisting of highly skilled musicians and vocalists. They have been performing together for over two decades, both in Melbourne and around Australia. Re-live all the classics from the early Beatlemania days including Please Please Me, A Hard Day’s Night, Help, Nowhere Man, etc. The second half of our show sees the Beatlez embark upon a magical, fun-filled trip back to the 1960s, wearing their bright and colourful Sergeant Pepper’s costumes. In 1963 “The Beach Boys” released “Surfers Rule”, a tongue-in-cheek dig at their East Coast rivals, “Frankie Valli & The 4 Seasons”. (“Four Seasons, you better believe it!” they chanted, while Brian Wilson mimicked Valli’s wailing falsetto from “Walk Like A Man”) “The 4 Seasons” responded in kind with “No Surfin’ Today”, a not-so-subtle dig at The Beach Boys! From then on, it was ON! A fierce rivalry grew between the East and West Coast factions, fueling each group’s creation of better material, and WE (the world’s music lovers) benefited! Over the ensuing decades, the music from these two great vocal groups became legendary. Now, you can decide who is the best vocal group of all time.
