VOLUNTEERING AT THE ROSEBUD RSL

Thankyou for your interest in volunteering with the Rosebud RSL.

We welcome new people to join our dedicated volunteer team at Rosebud.

FUNDRAISING AND APPEALS

Volunteer roles at Rosebud RSL mainly centre on fundraising through selling badges just before ANZAC DAY and selling poppies prior to REMEMBRANCE DAY.

Sellers generally follow a roster and “set up shop” at larger shopping centres, hardware stores etc. Our Appeals Officer may also require assistance to assemble, pack and deliver merchandise trays to local schools and businesses before, and then collect the proceeds and stock balances directly after our Appeals. We also need assistance to sell raffle tickets at the Club on Friday and Saturday Nights.

VETERANS SUPPORT

Veteran Support volunteers provide well-being support to veterans and their families and may undertake a number of roles including:-

•Hospital & Home Visitation
•Veteran Transport
•Welfare Officers
•Pensions Officers
•Other Veterans Support Activities

Most veteran support roles require volunteers to undergo a National Police Check for Aged Care. Some Veterans Support roles such as Pensions Officers and Welfare Officers also require volunteers to undergo specialized accredited training to enable them to undertake their duties. At Rosebud RSL, we fully support interested volunteers to become accredited.

WOMEN’S AUXILIARY

The Women’s Auxiliary meet on the second Monday of each month at 1pm at Rosebud RSL. The ladies of the Auxiliary make regular visits to the local community nursing homes and people in need. They also hold regular fundraising events with Easter and Christmas Raffles every year and the annul Oaks Day event, which is not to be missed. All funds raised by the Women’s Auxiliary assist the Local community e.g The Rosebud Hospital. The Ladies also assist the Club by volunteering to sell Anzac Badges and Poppies in the community for Anzac Day and Remembrance Day.
Subscriptions are $5.00 per year.
New members are most welcome.

COMMEMORATION AND MEMORABILIA

For ANZAC DAY and REMEMBRANCE DAY our Volunteers may be called on to assist at our Annual Commemoration Services and Rosebud RSL has an extremely popular ANZAC Ceremony designed just for local Primary, Secondary and Special schools as we see educating younger generations as a vital task in supporting our Community. Additionally to this end our Memorabilia Officer is always looking to add to our collection and maintain display to a high standard.

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

Administrative Support roles may include assisting in the day to day running of our club and we always seek people who can freely offer their time, trade or professional qualifications to assist us to make Rosebud RSL a better Veterans Support and Community place to enjoy.

ROSEBUD RSL

A community hub and family-friendly venue, Rosebud RSL on Eastbourne Road brings fun, good food and a sense of camaraderie to the Mornington Peninsula. With a large bistro, sports bar, TAB and outdoor area, there is something for everyone at this stylish venue, where you can relax in comfy new plush chairs in the lounge with a coffee in hand, or check out the library of war-time books. Catch all your favourite action live in the Sports Bar, while sharing plates like southern-fried chicken with honey-bourbon dipping sauce; or take to the Bistro for tempting salads, burgers and club classics like slow-cooked pork belly, Asian-style slaw, plum and ginger sauce. There’s a courtesy bus for those who want to enjoy an icy brew, while an indoor play area keeps the kids entertained.
